FAQs

Find answers to common questions about USF.

To consider your application complete, USF will need to receive the following items:

  • Submit an online application – no application fee.
  • Send us your official high school transcript.
  • Standardized test scores from either ACT or SAT are not required. However, if completed, we encourage students to send them as part of their application.
    • The USF code number for the ACT is 3920.
    • The USF code number for the SAT is 6651.
  • Transcripts of all previous college work, if applicable.

USF offers a rolling application allowing students to apply when they are ready. Applications are reviewed by the admissions team daily and decisions are determined within two weeks of receiving the required application documents.

 

100% of full-time freshmen receive financial aid. Academic scholarships will be determined at the time of admission and students are encouraged to submit the 25-26 FAFSA to determine additional financial aid eligibility.

USF offers a variety of merit-based, academic and performance scholarships to support students in their educational journey. Plus, we’ve simplified the search for additional scholarship funding by compiling a list of external scholarship opportunities and application details. We would love to see you! All visit options can be found online at visit.usiouxfalls.edu. Individual campus visits are offered Monday-Friday at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday visits and group visits are held throughout each semester as well.

 

Students have access to the Thomas Kilian Academic Success Center, which provides free tutoring, first-year advising, career guidance and more! Students will also have a faculty mentor during their freshman year, who will then serve as their academic advisor moving forward.

USF strongly believes in holistic student success. Students have access to free counseling services (both on and off campus) allowing them to receive the extra support they need, when needed.
